Salient Features of the MRCP/MRCS Programs
MRCP
- MRCP UK is an internationally recognized Post Graduate Level Qualification in General Medicine. MRCP(Member Of The Royal College Of Physicians ) is awarded to students on successfully passing the examinations conducted by the Royal College Of Physicians UK.
- It is recognised by the MCI.
- Unlike other PG medical courses in India which require NEET PG and that of UK which require PLAB and IELTS, MRCP does not require any of those.
If you have a MBBS Degree with 1 year of Internship you can apply for MRCP. - On completion of the course doctors can work in clinical positions and academic positions in India and abroad.
MRCS
- Recognized by the MCI
- MS equivalent Degree
- Eligible to work in India, UK and other countries
- Gateway for further studies in UK
Why MRCS as an alternative to an MS degree in India is Worth Considering
- To appear for MRCS part A you only need an MBBS degree.
- After you have completed your internship in a surgical department in any Indian hospital, and a senior surgeon attests the internship completion with the hospital stamp, then in all probability the Royal College of surgeons will allow you to write MRCS Part B. (This may possibly be, due to economic reasons.😃😃😃)
- If you work in the Middle East, you may invariably get a senior post and possibly double the salary as compared to a surgeon without an MRCS.
- With MRCS one is eligible to apply for Super Specialty training in the UK. It also opens the gateway for job, fellowship and higher training in Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
- However the pass percentage for MRCS is only 15% to 20% even amongst the students who have already completed their MS)
- Our records show that students who have been trained for MRCS at ICME (Institute for Continuing Medical Education), have 90% success rate of passing the exam in the first attempt itself. For Students who have already done their MS, just one month of training may be enough to make them feel confident to pass this exam. MBBS students who don’t have any surgical experience may need to do a residential course in Trivandrum for at least 3 to 4 months before they become proficient enough to take the exam.
Registration for MRCP/MRCS Course is only at the Institute, After you have attended the Workshop & Subject to Availability of Seats
