Message From The Director

Let Me Introduce Myself !!

Hello !! I am Dr. Suresh Prabhakar, a Consultant Urologist. After completing my FRCS and Dip. Urology in London, I worked in the UK for over a decade. However, I made the decision to return to India to be with my aging parents and provide them support and companionship.

Before my time in the UK, I dedicated several years to securing a PG seat in India. It was during this period that I realized my previous study techniques were ineffective, leading to my lack of success. Overcoming this setback and successfully practicing in the UK required a tremendous amount of effort, determination, and learning from my past mistakes.

Now, as a teacher and trainer, I have decades of experience and hard work to guide students in their studies. I can provide valuable insights on what to study, how to study, and importantly, what not to study.

About My Short Workshops & Courses

I conduct full-day workshops approximately twice a month. Additionally, I regularly organize two to four-month courses for various qualifying examinations such as NEET PG, FMGE, AMC, PLAB, and more.

Who Will Benefit From My Full Day Workshops?

My workshops are beneficial for individuals who have completed their MBBS degree and are preparing for NEET PG to secure a PG seat. They are also helpful for those who obtained their MBBS degree from countries like Ukraine, China, the Philippines, Russia, or similar places and are appearing for the FMGE examination to register with the Medical Council in India. Aspiring students looking to pursue a PG abroad and/or work abroad, as well as those preparing for MRCS/MRCP, can also benefit from these workshops. Additionally, even MBBS students can attend the workshop to better organize their future career path.

What Will be Covered in the Workshop?

In the interactive and hands-on full-day workshops conducted by Dr. Suresh Prabhkar, you will gain comprehensive knowledge about career planning, available course options, course selection, and how to plan, prepare, and attempt any qualifying exam to advance in your medical career. A typical workshop session, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, covers the following topics and more:

  • Understanding why many aspiring students, despite preparing for 2 to 3 years for the NEET PG exam, fail to secure a PG seat.
  • Exploring the approach modalities for attempting exams such as PLAB, AMC, NZREX, MRCP (UK), MRCS, IELTS, and OET.
  • Understanding the process of pursuing MRCS, MRCP, or FRCS with working experience in India, now recognized by the Medical Council of India.
  • Gaining hands-on experience in clinical skill training, history taking, counseling, and clinical examination.
  • Demonstrating interview skill training to face Skype interviews from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
  • Providing a simulated exam experience to enhance your chances of success.
  • Training on how to effectively study 19 clinical and non-clinical subjects for competitive exams without studying them separately.
  • Offering an opportunity for free online career guidance consultation from successful migrants who have established themselves in various fields worldwide after studying at ICME.
  • Interview skill training for facing Skype interviews from the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland.
  • Training on mannequins.
  • Guidance on audit and publications to improve your CV.
  • Approaches for various qualifying exams like PLAB, AMC, NZREX, MRCP (UK), MRCS, FMGE, NEET PG, IELTS, and OET.

For students aspiring to study or work abroad, this workshop will provide valuable insights to make well-informed decisions without relying on study abroad agents. With intense competition for PG programs and limited admission opportunities, considering studies in Australia or elsewhere can be a viable option. These courses are now approved by the Medical Council in India, allowing students to return to India after completing their PG studies.

Our Approach to Teaching

The following pedagogical approaches that we have developed, adopted and implemented successfully over a period of more than 22 years of training students to appear for Medical Council Registration Examinations abroad have helped hundreds of Doctors. The following is a brief of our approach to teaching;

  • Integrating clinical and non-clinical subjects while teaching. An integrated curriculum that involves integrating clinical and non-clinical subjects into a single course or module. This approach promotes a holistic approach to medical education, helps students see the relevance of different medical subjects to clinical practice, and promotes a deeper understanding of the subject matter
  • Case-based learning involving presenting students with clinical cases and encouraging them to apply their knowledge
  • Team-based learning tasks related to clinical and non-clinical subjects, that promotes collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills among students
  • Problem-based learning that involves presenting students with real-world clinical scenarios and encouraging them to analyze, evaluate and apply their knowledge

Our courses will not only help you pass the respective Medical Council registration examinations, but incorporating these pedagogical approaches into my teaching has helped students develop a deeper understanding of the relevance of various non clinical aspects into clinical practice and help them prepare for successful and rewarding future career in healthcare.

Additional Topics Covered

Apart from the main workshop content, we will also touch upon various options available based on individual aspirations. Completing MBBS is just the beginning, and post-graduation and gaining critical hospital experience are crucial steps toward becoming a competent doctor. I conduct workshops for these topics twice a month at my institute.

Please note that I prefer face-to-face interactions over online discussions as they are vital for understanding how to make diagnoses based on history taking and the use of mannequins. Online discussions tend to be less productive and time-consuming.

The fee for the workshop is only Rs 1000/- if attended in Trivandrum. For workshops conducted in other cities, the fee may be Rs. 5000/- or higher, depending on the city.

The maximum capacity for the full-day workshops is typically restricted to around 10 participants.

I have been teaching for over 23 years, and many of my students are currently practicing all over the world. Therefore, I am well-equipped to guide aspirants in various countries and across different options. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions.

Have a great day !!
